About the Project
How a personal journey became an Educational Ecosystem
My name is Lorena Mendoza. I was born in Cuba, grew up surrounded by languages and cultures, and teaching became my way of connecting people through communication. I graduated from the University of Pedagogical Sciences of Havana, Cuba, with a degree in Foreign Language Teaching, with a strong foundation in methodology and didactics. I also earned a Master's degree in Digital Marketing from the TEKDI Institute in Madrid, Spain.
I started as an English and French teacher, but over time my main specialization became teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I work with students from Russia, Europe, and Latin America — each one comes with their own story, goals, and motivation.
For me, it's important not just to teach grammar or vocabulary. I want students to feel the language as a living tool that opens up new cultures, opportunities, and ways of thinking. Alongside teaching, I help other teachers grow professionally — through courses, consultations, and mentoring. I believe that a teacher grows together with their students, and La Jerigonza is the space for that growth.
Today I live in Saint Petersburg, study Russian, work online, and build an educational community where everyone can find their place — whether it's an A1 student or an experienced teacher.

01
How the idea was born
It all started with a personal teaching experience and the desire to create a space with contemporary methodologies and a human-centered approach.
02
First steps
The first courses for teachers, the first students, the first classes. We started small — one area and a few people.
03
Development of areas
Gradually the project grew into an ecosystem: courses for teachers, a Spanish academy, blog and vlog, and a community for sharing experiences.
04
Where the project Is today
Today La Jerigonza brings together teachers and students from different countries, offers practical training, and creates a space for professional growth.
Whether you are learning a language or teaching one, this is a space to grow and share experiences.
